Juan:

I honestly don't know of the correct way to do it, but you could just setup a SecurityProxy that has a login() method on it.

That method could then create a ChannelSet() and call channelSet.login() just for the purpose of logging in.

All other RemoteObject calls could remain as they were and would then be secured.

From what I could tell the only one that mattered was the login() call on the ChannelSet....hope that helps.

This works using the channelSet but what can we do if we are not using channelSets.
The code I have is this:
remoteObject = new RemoteObject();
remoteObject.endpint = "someEndpoint";
remoteObject.desination = "someDestination";

In this case I do not set any channelSet.

Do you know how to call login and logout services in this case?

Thanks in advance

Velo:

Thanks for the suggestion. I am not exactly sure the correct way to make that change but would love to bind the flexmojos:test-swc and flexmojos:test-swf to my mvn clean install from the CI build.

I guess I am unsure as to how to make all the flexmojos:test-swc output be depended on by the flexmojos:test-swf calls. Does it inherently work that way?

Cheers,
Adam

Hi,

Just a suggestion, you can make test-swf as part of you build, so every time you run mvn clean install it will also build test-swf for you, that is specially useful if you have a CI machine.

Des:

The channelSet.login() is used to invoke the spring security hooks on the java side. Amazingly you don't have to write code for this as the two sql queries defined in the spring's securityContext.xml file will only return true and a set of roles/granted authorities if and only if the user exists, is enabled, and the password matches.

Hope that helps - sorry for the lag in responding.

How do you deal with Registration and checking if the username already exists without being logged into the channelset and this able to access the Spring backend?

We are using RedGate SQL tools to diff our database versions at this client. They have written a simple Maven Plugin that will allow developers to execute the SQL scripts outputted by the manually run RedGate tools.

I am using liquibase on a side project of mine to help manage database versioning. I think for developers maintaining their own database versions this is a great tool as it integrates nicely with Maven since it has a plugin. The RedGate solution required a custom plugin that is very rudimentary at this point - however it works like a champ from what I have seen (he just wrote it).

Also RedGate tools are only for MS SQL and if you are a JBoss guy its easily possible that you are a Postgres/MySQL or Oracle guy right?

Hope that helps. I am sure I will have a post on Liquibase in the future as I learn a bit better how to use it.

We have chosen almost the same approach for our jboss envs. In addition we completely de- and reconfigures our appserver config on each deployment (not bundled).

However, we often have trouble with having to run sql scripts manually. Do yo address this problem in some way?
